Afinia L701 Labels

The Afinia L701 is a Memjet colour label printer with a powered cutter, built for small manufacturers who print thousands of labels a day. Its included unwinder takes rolls on a 3" core up to 6" across, and it feeds media from 2" to 8.5" wide. Every roll below matches those limits.

Roll fit

Two limits to watch: width and length

The L701 needs labels at least 2" wide across the roll and at least 2" long in the feed direction, so very small sizes will not run. Its included unwinder stops at a 6" roll. If you need bigger rolls, the L801 takes 8" rolls on the same 3" core.

Ink and finish

Memjet dye ink and your stock

  • Five Memjet dye cartridges (CMYKK) print fast, sharp colour; the double black keeps text and barcodes dark.
  • Matte paper: the go-to for ingredient panels, barcodes and dry goods.
  • Gloss paper: richer colour and shine for retail shelves and gift packaging.
  • BOPP (matte or gloss): choose it for fridges, oils, condensation and anything that gets handled. Dye ink is less water resistant than pigment, so run a test roll before a wet or chilled job.

Every size comes in matte paper, gloss paper, matte BOPP and gloss BOPP unless noted. Continuous rolls are 200 ft (180 ft for matte BOPP) and the printer cuts them to the length in your file. Sizes listed here are the ones that match the printer's published media specs.

What is the smallest label the L701 can print?

By Afinia's spec, 2" wide and 2" long. For smaller labels, print them 2-up or look at a printer with a lower minimum.

Do L801 rolls fit the L701?

Yes, as long as the roll is 6" across or less. The L801 also takes 8" rolls, which do not fit the L701's unwinder.

Die-cut or continuous?

Die-cut gives you clean, consistent shapes and gaps for production runs. Continuous lets you print any length, which suits shops labelling many different products.

Can you make a size that is not listed?

Yes. We convert rolls in-house in Mississauga, so custom widths, lengths, circles and materials on a 3" core are available. Send us your size.
