Labels for Older and Discontinued Label Printers: LX900, TM-C3500, VP650 and More

A label printer that is no longer sold can keep printing for years. The hard part is finding rolls that still fit. Below are the older Primera, Epson, Afinia and VIPColor models we make rolls for, with the roll size each one takes and the current printer that uses the same rolls if you ever replace it.

Ink is usually the bigger worry

Rolls are easy to make for an older printer. Ink cartridges and printheads are the parts that get harder to find once a model is discontinued. If your cartridges are getting scarce, plan the switch before you run out. The good news from the table above: in most cases the newer model takes the same rolls, so your label sizes and artwork can stay the same.

Three checks before you reorder

  1. Core and roll size: match the table above, or measure your current roll.
  2. Width: some 8.5" printers need labels at least 2" wide, so a 1" roll will not feed.
  3. Material: pick paper for dry goods and BOPP for anything wet, oily or chilled. See waterproof vs water-resistant labels.

Not sure what you have? Send us the model or a photo of your current roll and we will match it. We make every roll in Mississauga, including custom sizes.
